This seminar will take place 11:00 to 15:00 Central European Time each day.

Overview

Join a cohort of your peers in three live lessons facilitated by globally recognized Assurance of Learning (AoL) experts. Build skills and network in interactive, workshop-style lessons focused on creating a customized AoL process for your school. Develop and refine your competency goals (learning goals), learning objectives, and rubrics through group interactions, breakout sessions, and spaced learning in a virtual environment.

Focusing on Standard 5: Assurance of Learning of the AACSB Global Standards for Business EducationTM, the seminar covers the entire AoL process step by step to help you gain a clear understanding of assessment, competency goals (learning goals), learning objectives, data collection, and rubrics. The seminar also provides regional resources and examples for customized learning. You will practice what you learn with your peers to build a working knowledge of how to create the best AoL process for your school.

Learning Objectives

  • Become familiar with the AACSB Global Standards for Business Education™
  • Evaluate sample competency goals and learning objectives
  • Utilize Bloom’s Taxonomy to write program learning objectives
  • Explore use of indirect measures in portfolio of evidence
  • Conduct primary trait analysis to write a rubric. 

Facilitator

Adam_ThomasAdam Thomas, University of Zürich

Adam is responsible for the international accreditations (AACSB/EQUIS), continuous improvement, and reporting processes at the University of Zurich, Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics. Adam has a passion for technology and online learning/facilitation/collaboration tools. Often sought after due to his out-of-the-box approaches; Adam focuses on purpose-oriented solutions supporting continuous improvement. Adam is also the co-founder of IMPX, a company supporting universities in understanding their societal impact with the IMPX tool to collect key impact data and displaying it in a dashboard.

Faculty, department chairs, deans, and those working on obtaining or maintaining accreditation at their school. This seminar is suitable for individuals who are new to assurance of learning, who have recently joined an AoL committee, who are implementing an AoL plan, or who need to be familiarized with the general terminology and implementation.

Delivery

Gain actionable insights in three, three-hour live lessons with a cohort of your peers and facilitators. Pre- and post-work will help you maximize your classroom time. This course is delivered via AACSB’s Learning Portal and Zoom. You will have access to the event for 90 days from the seminar date.
